Induction brazing is a brazing process that uses electromagnetic induction to heat the workpieces and melt the filler metal (braze alloy) to form a strong bond between the materials being joined. Unlike traditional brazing methods that rely on an open flame or heated surface, the heating process of induction brazing is more controlled, efficient and precise. Induction brazing is the cleanest and most environmentally friendly heating welding method in the world.

Induction brazing is commonly used for brazing materials such as steel, copper, copper alloys, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and other weldments with symmetrical shapes. It is particularly effective for pipe fittings, pipes, flanges, shafts, sleeves, turning tool heads, and sawtooth pieces.

Designed for copper tubes, this induction brazing equipment uses an induction current to heat the solder to the required temperature, causing it to melt. This allows the two metals, whether of the same material or different materials, to wet each other and join together.

 

The choice of frequency band and power depends on the brazing cross-sectional area. For welding cross-sectional areas less than 30×30 mm, a high-frequency induction brazing heater with an operating frequency of 60-80KHz is generally used. For larger cross-sectional areas (greater than 30×30 mm) and large-volume processing, a high-frequency portable induction brazing machine with a slightly higher power is recommended, with a frequency range of 15-60KHz.

Types of Induction Bearing Heaters

The brazing process using a high-frequency portable induction brazing heater consists of several steps. First, clean the surface of the workpieces with flux and ensure that the workpieces fit tightly. The brazing material is placed near or between the joint gap.

 

When the workpieces and solder are heated to a temperature slightly above the melting point of the solder, the solder melts and is drawn into the joint by capillary action. The liquid solder then spreads and combines with the workpiece metals. After stopping heating, place the workpiece in quicklime or insulating sand for a short time to allow the brazed joint to solidify.

The difference between a high-frequency brazing machine and other welding machine is that it has multiple functions besides welding. In addition to welding various metal materials, high-frequency welding machines are also used in processes such as hot melting, smelting and heat treatment. Welding is just one of its many uses.
